The Carolina Panthers are determined to land Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson this offseason, and the organization apparently considers Watson their “Plan A, B, and C”, according to The Athletic’s Joe Person.
As of now, at least publicly, the Texans have been firm in their stance that Watson is, and will remain, their starting quarterback, despite the signal caller’s demands to be traded and threats to never play for the team again.
Houston recently signed veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who has starting experience, as a backup (or more likely a contingency plan).
The Panthers can certainly put together an enticing offer for the Texans, which includes the 8th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. For now, there is only rumors, chatter, and speculation to speak about.
