Panthers Francise Tag Taylor Moton

1 Min Read

The Carolina Panthers have applied the franchise tag to veteran right tackle Taylor Moton, which is expected to be between $13.5 million and $14 million for the 2021 season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With the tag in place, the Panthers can continue to negotiate a long-term contract with Moton, which is the organization’s priority heading into the offseason. Moton is highly valued by the Panthers.

“He’s an excellent player,” Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said about Moto late last season. “He’s an excellent professional. He’s an even better person. When we talk about the brand, he’s all of that.”

The Panthers drafted Moton, 26, in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has started every game the past three seasons.
