Saints Release Janoris Jenkins

1 Min Read

The New Orleans Saints have a lot of work to do on their cap situation, and continued that work on Thursday when they officially released veteran cornerback Janoris Jenkins in a cost-cutting move, according to ESPN’s Mike Triplett.

Jenkins was due to make $11.2 million in salary and bonuses this year, and $1.2 million of that money was guaranteed. By cutting Jenkins, the Saints will save around $7 million against the salary cap, and can save an additional $3 million if the move is designated as a post-June 1st release.

Jenkins, 32, has played for the Saints, New York Giants, and the Los Angeles Rams during his nine-year career.
