The Chicago Bears certainly took a healthy swing at acquiring quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks before settling on signing veteran signal caller Andy Dalton, and the Seahawks still decided to pass.
According to Dan Patrick, the Bears offered 3 first round draft picks, a third round pick, and two starters (who were not named) as part of the package presented, and ultimately rejected, but Seahawks brass.
While many have been bashing the Bears for their failures to land a franchise quarterback, and the state of the position for many years now, you cannot fault Chicago for this attempt, as it was quite the haul.
Seattle may still end up trading Wilson, and could circle back to Chicago should they decide to trade Wilson. But without a 2021 first round draft pick, and the age of Pete Carroll, a complete rebuild in Seattle may not be on the table at the moment.
