The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are expected to make their return to action on Friday following a postponement of Thursday’s scheduled game due to positive COVID-19 tests from a number of Yankee players, according to ESPN’s Enrique Rojas.

Yankees players Aaron Judge, Gio Urshela, Kyle Higashioka, Jonathan Loaisiga, Nestor Cortes Jr. and Wandy Peralta were all officially confirmed cases and will now head to the COVID injured list.

With the Yankees currently sitting in 4th place in the American League East, missing a number of key stars won’t provide them much help in this important series with the Red Sox, who have swept the Yankees in both of their three-game series this season.
