Suns Hire Bryan Gates as New Assistant Coach

The Phoenix Suns have now officially filled the void left by the departure of veteran assistant coach Willie Green, who took the job as the new head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans after an incredible stint with the Suns organization.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns have hired veteran assistant coach Bryan Gates to take over Green’s post. Gates and Suns head coach Monty Williams have worked with one another in the past as Gates served as Williams’ assistant coach during his run as the head coach of the Pelicans/Hornets.

Additionally, Jeff Bower has stepped down from his position as the Suns vice president of basketball operations.
