2 Min Read

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz will undergo surgery on his injured left foot and is expected to miss 5-12 weeks, Colts head coach Frank Reich announced on Monday (h/t ESPN).

Reich said that Wentz’s injury is an old injury, possibly from his high school days, and a broken bone came loose in Wentz’s foot.

Colts offensive coordinator Marcus Brady told reported on Friday that Wentz felt a “twinge in his foot” when he rolled out and planted to throw late in Thursday’s practice. Now, the Colts will turn to Jacob Eason to take first team reps.

“The job is Jacob’s right now,” Reich said. “He has to prove it, he knows that. Jacob’s in the driver’s seat.”
