Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is unlikely to play in the team’s upcoming season opener against the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Sarah Barshop.

Watson is considered “unlikely to play” in the tilt “based on the limited reps he’s had in practice,” Texans head coach David Culley said on Tuesday. Culley’s comments echoed those of general manager Nick Caserio earlier in the morning when he said that he didn’t expect Watson to travel for Saturday’s game, during an appearance on Sports Radio 610.

Culley declined to comment when asked if Watson would be available to play at all during the preseason.

After missing a week of practice, Watson made his return to the practice field on Monday and Tuesday. Watson officially reported to camp on July 25th several months after he formally requested a trade back in January.

Watson is also facing 23 lawsuits regarding allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior.
