Hawks Hiring Nick Van Exel

The Atlanta Hawks are hiring former NBA guard Nick Van Exel as their new assistant coach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Per the report, Van Exel will replace Marlon Garnett, who recently accepted a job on Charlotte’s staff.

Van Exel, a 13-year veteran, played for the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers, and the San Antonio Spurs during his playing career.

He has also been an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies, in addition to Atlanta.
