The Detroit Lions have released veteran wide receiver Breshad Perriman only five months after he came to the organization as one of their prized free agent signings, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Perriman inked a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Lions back in March, which included $2 million in guarantees, but his struggles throughout training camp and the preseason led to his release.

Perriman, 27, caught 30 receptions for 505 yards and three touchdowns for the New York Jets last season.
