The New Orleans Saints have officially named Jameis Winston their starting quarterback for Week 1 of the 2021 regular season when the take on the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Winston beat out Taysom Hill in their battles throughout camp for the starting gig, and it will mark Winston’s first start since his tenure ended with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2019 season.
Winston, 27, now gets another chance to prove he is a franchise quarterback for the long-term.
