The Cleveland Browns believe, at this point in time, that the left shoulder injury that quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered will not end his season or will require immediate surgery, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter.

Mayfield initially suffered a partially torn labrum back on September 19th while he attempted to make a tackle following an interception. Mayfield would continue to play through it and even wore a harness on the injured shoulder as a form of support.

Mayfield reportedly reaggravated the injury against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday when he was hit by Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt resulting in a fumble.

Currently, Mayfield is still waiting on a second opinion from his own doctor, who is expected to review Mayfield’s MRI scans sometime on Tuesday.
