As the NFL trade deadline approaches, Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is now open to landing with another team outside of his preferred destination of the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Per the report, Watson, who has a no-trade clause as part of his contract, is willing to consider multiple options for a new team, with one emerging option being identified as the Carolina Panthers, who have been unimpressed with Sam Darnold, who was benched in the fourth quarter of their 25-3 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.

According to a report from The Athletic, the Panthers have renewed their interest in landing Watson. Carolina was considered a serious suitor for Watson earlier in the offseason, prior to the sexual assault allegations made against Watson came to surface, but the Texans were refusing to engage any teams in trade talks at that time.

Watson, 26, initially requested a trade from the Texans this past January, and has been tied to the Dolphins, Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Denver Broncos.
