Giants Lose Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones, Kenny Golladay to Injury

3 Min Read

Sunday was a rough day for the New York Giants who were completely dominated by the Dallas Cowboys, but also lost a number of key offensive players to injury during a brutal first half of the 44-20 loss.

Running back Saquon Barkley was forced out of the game during the first quarter due to an ankle injury, quarterback Daniel Jones was out in the second quarter due to a concussion, and wide receiver Kenny Golladay left at halftime with a hyperextended knee.

Barkley and Jones would not return to the game. Barkley was seen in a boot and on crutches after the contest. The full severity of the injury will be determined after further testing to be done on Monday with the expectation being that he could miss a few weeks of action.

“It is crazy just looking in [at it],” Golladay said about the injuries, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Jones was “in good spirits” following the game, per the report.

“I’m not going to get into any medical diagnosis. I saw him in the locker room afterwards right there. Just checked on him,” Giants head coach Joe Judge said. “In terms of where he’ll go next week, I don’t have an answer for you right now. We’ll see where he goes. Obviously we’re all hopeful that he’ll be back and he’ll be healthy.”

Golladay said he would have an MRI on Monday and “hope for the best.”

Golladay also spoke about the concussion Jones suffered while attempting to get into the end zone, and colliding with Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox. Jones would hit the ground hard and his face mask would slam into the turf.

“To be honest, I thought he just got the wind knocked out of him cause he laid there for a second but got up, put his hands on his knees,” Golladay said. “Any time you see a player stumble a little bit, doesn’t matter a quarterback or not, kind of scary. So definitely trying to make sure he’s all right.”
