With their 37-19 loss to the Tennessee Titans, the Jacksonville Jaguars have now lost 20 consecutive games. The last win for the team came in week one of the 2020 season.

The Jaguars are now six losses away from tying the 1976-77 Tampa Bay Buccaneers record of losing 26 straight games. It’s a record no team ever wants to come close to. No other team had lost at least 20 straight games up until now.

The Detroit Lions lost 19 straight games between 2007, 08, and 09 seasons. The Houston Oilers lost 18 consecutive from 1972-1973. The Oilers also had a streak of losing 17 straight games from 1982-1983.

The Cleveland Browns have two different losing streaks of 17 games  between 2015-2017. The Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders each had a losing streak of 16 games. The Dolphins streak happened between the 2006-2007 seasons. While the Raiders’ losses came from the 2013-2014 seasons.

Because of the losing streak, the Jaguars got the first overall pick in 2021, which they used on Trevor Lawrence. The hope was that Lawrence could help the Jaguars get back to some winning football. However, that hasn’t happened as Lawrence and the team has struggled. Through five games, Lawrence has thrown six touchdowns and eight interceptions. The defense has given up 152 points in the first five games of the 2021 season.

The Jaguars travel to London next week to take on the Dolphins. After that, they have a bye before battling the Seahawks in Seattle. The next four games after Seattle are the Bills, at the Colts, 49ers, and Falcons.

If the Jaguars can not pick up a win in either of those six games, they will tie the record. The players, coaches, and fans are hoping that it does not happen.
