Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran tight end Rob Gronkowski is set to play during Tampa Bay’s Monday night tilt against the New York Giants barring any setbacks prior to kickoff, according to ESPN.
Gronkowski, a five-time Pro Bowler, is officially listed as questionable with a back injury and has missed five games during the 2021 regular season because of back spasms, cracked ribs and a punctured lung.
Gronkowski was a full participant in team practices on Thursday and on Friday, for the time first time since suffering the injuries, and indicated that he was trending towards being available to play on Monday night.
“The arrow is pointing up to play this week, and hopefully it’s a go,” Gronkowski said Friday.
