Following another brutal offensive performance in their Monday night loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New York Giants may be looking for change, and head coach Joe Judge might have seen enough of Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator.
Garrett has been the Giants offensive coordinator since 2020, following his dismissal as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, but it may be time for the Giants to move on following the offenses performance on Monday night.
“Generally speaking, we have to do everything better — we didn’t do anything really well enough to win the game tonight,” Judge said following the game, according to Giants Wire. “Have to make sure we execute when we have the opportunity to make plays.”
The team had high hopes for the offense with the return of Saquon Barkley and the signing of free agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay, but Golladay has yet to score a touchdown for his new team this season. Golladay also had a blow up on the sidelines and has complained about his role recently.
“In reference to any body language or anything at the end of the game, I’ll handle the corrections we have to make. But as a player, there are some things I would be frustrated about as well,” Judge said.
“We’ve got to put our players in better position to make plays,” Judge said. “I told the players to show up Wednesday ready to go. . . We’ll have a plan for them.”
When asked if the plan would include a new offensive coordinator, or at least a new play called, Judge didn’t mince words.
“Yeah, put that on down, you can put that down tonight — you guys can write that tonight,” Judge said. “Now the players have to execute, that’s their job right? It’s our job to teach them, and it’s their job to go out there execute, but we have to make sure we keep putting them in a position to have success, and it’s got to be consistently that way. So, you can go and write that down and I’m not going to debate that.”
