Russell Wilson Cleared to Play

1 Min Read

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has officially been cleared to return to action.

Per ESPN, Wilson was cleared by Dr. Steve Shin, who performed the surgery on the signal caller’s right middle finger. Wilson underwent surgery on October 8th, a day after he banged his hand on Los Angeles Rams’ defensive lineman Aaron Donald during a follow-through of a pass. Wilson’s surgery was to repair a tendon rupture and a fracture-dislocation in his finger.

“I am absolutely amazed at his progress, so much so that I can now confidently clear him for full return to play without reservation,” Shin said of Wilson, in an official statement that was issued on Monday.

Wilson’s streak of 149 consecutive starts was broken due to the injury.
