The Arizona Cardinals were, at one point, one of the hottest teams in the NFL during the early part of the regular season, but have since dropped three straight games to drop their record to 10-5 on the season.

Suddenly, the Cardinals aren’t looking like the powerhouse that they have throughout the season, and despite securing their first playoff berth in six years, head coach Kliff Kingsbury says that the team has a lot of work to do to improve as the playoffs approach.

“I don’t think [qualifying] was ever on the forefront of our minds,” Kingsbury said, according to Darren Urban of Cardinals.com. “We’ve just been trying to improve and play better. That’s been the focus. To be in the playoffs with two games left is an accomplishment, and we understand that. But we know we’ve got to improve a lot and play better football and stop hurting ourselves in these games before we even think about taking the next step.”

The Cardinals will look to right the ship as they take on the Dallas Cowboys, who are coming off their drubbing of Washington, in Week 17.
