The New York Giants have continued to build the staff around new head coach Brian Daboll.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Giants are finalizing a deal with former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale to be their new defensive coordinator, who will take over for Patrick Graham.
The Giants were initially intending to retain Graham under Daboll, but Graham chose to leave for a similar role with the Las Vegas Raiders last week. Graham had interviewed for head coaching openings with the Giants and the Minnesota Vikings.
Daboll also interviewed Jim Schwartz, Sean Desai and Steve Wilks for the position.
Martindale had been with the Ravens since their 2012 Super Bowl season, and spent the last 4 seasons as their defensive coordinator.
