The Jacksonville Jaguars are planning to hire Tampa Bay Buccaneers inside linebackers coach Mike Caldwell as their new defensive coordinator, who would be the first addition to new head coach Doug Pederson’s staff, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Caldwell, 50, is expected to have a deal in place with his new team within the next several days.
Caldwell has spent 15 years as an assistant, jumping to the sidelines following an 11-year playing career that saw him suit up at linebacker with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
