The Kansas City Chiefs are adding some veteran power along their defensive lines, inking free agent defensive end Carlos Dunlap to a one-year deal worth up to $8 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Dunlap’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, announced the deal to Schefter.

The Seattle Seahawks released Dunlap back in march as they switch to a more traditional 3-4 defensive alignment, and Dunlap plays a more traditional 4-3 defensive role, which was likely a factor in his release.

Dunlap, 33, had inked a two-year, $13.6 million deal with Seattle prior to the 2021 season, and was set to make $5.1 million in 2022.

Dunlap collected 8.5 sacks last season, and one forced fumble.
