The Utah Jazz haven’t made it public that they are in a firesale teardown of their roster to embark on a complete rebuild, but if rumors that superstar guard Donovan Mitchell could be on the move this summer are true, that would say it loud and clear.

The New York Knicks have been considered a front runner in a trade for Mitchell, but despite it seeming that a deal could come to fruition a few weeks ago, the news cycle has slowed considerably since.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Knicks are still considered to be the frontrunner to land Mitchell, but talks between the two teams have move slowly thus far and the two sides remain far from reaching an agreement.

With two months to go until training camp, the Jazz have plenty of time to gauge the market for Mitchell, and the report indicates that the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks and the Sacramento Kings have all expressed varying levels of interest in landing Mitchell.

It’s also worth noting that the Phoenix Suns could enter the fray to attempt to loop the Jazz into a multi-team trade that would include the Brooklyn Nets as they look for ways to facilitate a deal to land superstar Kevin Durant.

With training camp several weeks away, it appears that this is far from over.
