Matthew Stafford Provides Update on Elbow Injury

1 Min Read

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford seems poised to help the team defend their Super Bowl Championship during the 2022 season, and has provided an update on his elbow injury, which has been a major talking point this offseason.

Stafford wasn’t able to throw during OTA’s earlier this year due to a right elbow–a problem he dealt with throughout the 2021 season and, at point, required an anti-inflammatory shot just to manage it.

However, Stafford returned to throwing when Rams training camp opened on Sunday and provided an update on his health.

“It’s good to get out there and stress it a little bit and see how it reacts,” Stafford said, according to Pro Football Talk. “It’s an interesting thing trying to have a little bit of governor on there, and at the same time, just trying to be as smart as I can. It’s a process. Just going to have to sit there and work through it, trust it. We’ll figure it out as we go.”

Stafford’s health will be key for the Rams defense of their championship as they look to capture their second straight Lombardi Trophy.
