Juan Soto Discusses Potential Last Game with Nationals

1 Min Read

Washington Nationals slugger Juan Soto played in what was likely his final game in a Nationals uniform on Monday night, as it is very likely that Soto will be moved as the MLB trade deadline approaches.

Soto left a mark, smacking a homer during the Nationals loss to the New York Mets 7-3, and spoke following the loss about a “weird” feeling as the deadline looms.

“I feel good where I’m at,” Soto said (h/t ESPN). “I understand it’s a business and they need to do whatever they need to do. I’m just another player, another employee here like (former teammate Ryan Zimmerman) used to say.”

Nationals fans showed their love for Soto, especially as he hit his 21st homerun of the season.

“It means a lot,” Soto said. “It kind of feels weird, too, because nothing’s happened yet. We’re still waiting. It’s kind of cool at the same time, but it’s kind of weird, too.”

Time will tell where Soto plays next, and we should find out in the very near future.
