Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper starts his minor league rehabilitation assignment Tuesday as he continues his recovery from a fractured left thumb that occurred when he was hit by a pitch in late June.

Harper is expected to play with Triple-A Lehigh Valley through Saturday, according to an official announcement.

Additionally, Harper is expected to take Sunday off and could potentially return to the Phillies lineup on Monday when they begin a series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.

Harper is batting .318 with 15 home runs and 48 RBIs this season.
