Celtics Interested in Carmelo Anthony

1 Min Read

The Boston Celtics were hoping that the addition of Danilo Gallinari would be a solid boost to their already talented lineup, but Gallinari suffered a season-ending injury during international play that has the Celtics on the hunt for some help.

According to the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn, the Celtics are interested in free agent forward, and future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, who spent last season playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

“[Talks with the Celtics] are starting to gain some traction because Anthony may be the best shooting forward on the market,” Washburn reported. “He has shown to be productive offensively despite his age.”

Anthony, 38, is coming off a season where he played a key reserve role for the Lakers, and averaged 13.3 points per game.
