Jets’ Zach Wilson Likely Out Until Week 4

1 Min Read

The New York Jets will be without quarterback Zach Wilson until at least Week 4 of the 2022 season as he recovers from arthroscopic knee surgery, according to an official team announcement issued on Wednesday.

Wilson was initially expected to miss one or two games, but now the Jets will turn to veteran Joe Flacco to start the season against the Baltimore Ravens and then for the next few games following that.

“We’re going to make sure mind and body are 100% and make sure we do right by him,” Saleh said, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini. Saleh added that playing Wilson right now is “not worth the risk. There’s the knee element. There’s the mind element. There’s the practice element. There are a whole lot of things other than the knee.”

This will be Flacco’s, who hasn’t started a season opener since 2019, first time playing against the Raven, who traded him back in 2018 to the Denver Broncos.
