New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones suffered a back injury during the Patriots’ 20-7 season opening loss to the Miami Dolphins, which required X-rays following the game, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Jones finished 21-of-30 for 213 yards, with one touchdown and one interception, but was sacked twice, including a big hit during the second quarter on a blindside blitz that forced Jones to fumble and Miami returned it for a touchdown.

Jones walked under his own power to the X-ray room following the game, and spent close to 5 minutes in the room before returning to the team locker room.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers on tap next, it is unclear what Jones’ status is for that game.
