Commanders’ Carson Wentz Out 4-6 Weeks

1 Min Read

Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks with a fractured ring finger and is under consideration for IR, according to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

With Wentz struggling in the starter role, the Commanders will get yet another look at backup Taylor Heineke, who performed adequately as the starter during the 2021 season, throwing for 3,419 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The team could also take a look at fifth-round draft pick Sam Howell.

Washington could certainly use a boost under center, as they have struggled to a 2-4 record this season.
