The Houston Rockets and guard Kevin Porter Jr. have officially agreed to a four-year, $82.5 million contract extension, his agent Sam Permut of Roc Nation Sports announced, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The extension has a unique structure that allows for significant upside for Porter and protections for the Rockets as well, as the first season is guaranteed, and future seasons have several mechanisms to fully guarantee, per the report.
Porter, 26, was able to work out the contract extension with the Rockets ahead of the 6 pm EST deadline for the 2019 NBA Draft class of players.
