San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Arik Armstead has not played since the Niners took on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, but has revealed that he has been recovering from a hairline fracture in his left ankle.
“I was hoping to be on the earlier side of returning, but I’m still on schedule,” Armstead said, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Jennifer Lee Chan. Armstead is also recovering from plantar fasciitis
“Arik’s improving,” 49ers general manager John Lynch said last week. “He had somewhat of a significant deal in that he’s coming off an injury with your lower half, and that’s hard when you’re a guy who is as big as he is. You’ve got to make sure he’s right.”
