Spain coach Luis Enrique Live Streaming on Twitch During World Cup

2 Min Read

With less than week from the start of the World Cup, Spain coach Luis Enrique has announced his plans to join the Twitch streaming platform starting in Qatar by creating content with ‘not filter’, according to ESPN’s Alex Kirkland.

“Streamers of the world, get out of the way! I’m heading downhill and I’ve got no brakes!” the coach said. It will certainly be a great story, and Enrique should land himself among the top sports content creators on the platform as people tune in to watch Spain’s journey towards World Cup glory for the first time since 2010.

“I’m recording this video to announce that I’ve become a streamer,” Enrique said, per Twitter. “Well, I’m not a streamer yet, this is a video. I haven’t started yet. But my idea is to stream during the time we’re in Qatar. We arrive in the early hours of [Friday] Nov. 18, so I think I’ll be able to start streaming that day.”

“It’s an idea I think could be interesting, to establish a direct relationship with you the fans,” he said. “To establish a more direct relationship with no filters, more spontaneous, more natural. I think it could be interesting for everyone.”

“As you can see, I can only improve,” the coach said. “The lighting for this video is inadequate. My microphone is Third Division. And my face is what it is!”

Given the popularity of live-streaming, Enrique should fit right in with the many streamers on the platform, and should find a fast track to becoming one of the most popular Twitch influencers on the Amazon-owned platform.

If you’re wondering How to Grow on Twitch, you may want to watch Enrique’s new channel for some inspiration. His channel has already boomed to over 58,000 followers even before his aired his first official stream on the platform.

Enrique also set up new social media accounts to help promote his new channel.
