Red Sox Sign Justin Turner

1 Min Read

The Boston Red Sox have signed veteran third-baseman Justin Turner to a two-year contract worth around $22 million that includes an opt-out following the first season, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Turner, 38,  comes over after spending the first nine-years of his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he became one the National League’s most productive and consistent hitters, likely filling a spot left by J.D. Martinez who signed with the Dodgers on Saturday.

Turner saw a dip in his power this past season, but still hit .278/.350/.438 with 13 home runs and 81 RBIs in 128 games for Los Angeles.
