49ers’ Nick Bosa Named Defensive Player of the Year

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was named The Associated Press 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year during the NFL Honors program on Thursday evening, following a season in which Bosa led the league with 18.5 sacks.

Bosa received 46 first-place votes and 237 points to top runner-up Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys, who claimed 101 points but did not land a single first place vote. Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones came in third with 56 points, which included 1 first place vote.

Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haasan Reddick received two first play votes and finished in fourth place while New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams received the other first-place vote.
