Cam Newton Throwing At Auburn Pro Day

2 Min Read

Despite underwhelming performances during his last two seasons in the NFL, playing with the New England Patriots and his return to the Carolina Panthers, former MVP quarterback Cam Newton believes he is a starter in the league and will be throwing at Auburn’s Pro Day to prove it.

“Tell me how these randoms keep getting jobs,” Newton said during a 54-second video to announce his participation in Auburn’s pro day that was posted to sports social media on Monday. “Don’t worry about it. I’m going to show you. I can’t wait to show you.”

Newton capped off the video by saying  “ain’t 32 [quarterbacks] better than me.”

Newton has thrown for 32,382 yards, with 194 touchdowns and 123 interceptions over the course of his career, leading the Panthers to the Super Bowl following a strong 2015 season and has posted a 75-68-1 record as a starting NFL quarterback and has run for more touchdowns than any quarterback in league history.

Newton believes he has a place as a starting quarterback in the NFL, but it is hard to believe in that statement given no team really has kicked the tires of adding him to their roster, even as a backup quarterback.

We shall see if Tuesday’s session changes anyone’s mind.
