The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr that could potentially be worth up to $150 million and includes up to $100 million in guarantees, according to ESPN’s Katherine Terrell.
Carr, 31, will receive $60 fully guaranteed at signing and another $10 million once he starts Year 3 of the deal and will earn $60 million in the first two years of the deal, per the report. Carr had visited the Saints in early February and also met with them during the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis last week.
Carr also met with the New York Jets.
Carr finished last season with 3,522 passing yards (the third-lowest mark of his nine-year career), 24 touchdown passes, 14 interceptions (tied for the most in a single season), a 60.8% completion percentage (a career low) and an 86.3 passer rating (a career low).
