Cowboys Release Antonio Callaway Following Arrest

1 Min Read

The Dallas Cowboys have released veteran wide receiver Antonio Callaway on Monday after Callaway was arrested last weekend in Miami for driving with a suspended license, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Callaway was signed to the Cowboys’ practice squad last November, but he did not suit up for a single game. Callaway was competing for one of the final wide receiver spots on the Cowboys roster, but had not practiced during the last two organized team activities open to the media.

Callaway, who has not caught a pass during a regular season game since 2020, is a former fourth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns, and has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins.

In a corresponding move, the Cowboys signed wide receiver Tyron Johnson who was one of several players that Dallas worked out on Monday. Johnson has 23 catches for 422 yards and three touchdowns in his career, spanning four teams.
