Byron Scott Believes LeBron James Could Reach 40K Career Points

2 Min Read

Former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott had a bold prediction for Lakers superstar LeBron James, a future Hall of Famer, as James closes in on 40,000 career points entering the upcoming season.

James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time NBA scoring record that stood for more than three decades this past February, and would go on to close out the 2022-2023 regular season with 38,652 career points.

James, 39, is already building the hype for the upcoming season with his training in full force, from intense workouts in the gym and possibly even some popular fitness streams sprinkled in, which has fans hyped for the upcoming season.

“He keeps himself in unbelievable condition, he going to play another year or so and I think that he’ll get to the point where he’ll have over 40,000 points in this league and I don’t think that it will be broken especially in our lifetime,” Scott said during an appearance on Scoop B Selects with host, Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, one of the popular NBA sports talk podcasts.

“I think that the reason why [I don’t think anyone will break his record] is the consistency. LeBron has played 20 years in the NBA and has never really been fully hurt and when he gets hurt, he comes right back,” Scott continued.

As long as James stays in shape it is certainly within the realm of possibility, and his dedication to working out and conditioning should certainly inspire many to check out live fitness classes during their own fitness journeys.
