Mariners’ Julio Rodriguez Suffers Pinched Nerve in Left Foot

The Seattle Mariners remain one of the hottest teams in baseball as we head into the final month of the regular season, but cold water has been thrown on those flames with news that Mariners superstar Julio Rodriguez suffering a pinched nerve in his left foot.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said that the All-Star outfielder injured his left foot while warming up for the game against the Oakland Athletics which resulted in Rodriguez being held out of the game, according to MLB reporter Daniel Kramer.

The Athletics took advantage of the Mariners’ injury woes to take the victory and drop the Mariners in a first-place tie with the Texas Rangers for first place in the AL West division, with a 75-57 record.

Rodriguez’s status remains uncertain moving forward, but his importance to the Mariners current success as well as their potential success in the upcoming playoffs cannot be understated.

Rodriguez has batted .286 with 24 home runs and 87 RBIs for the Mariners this season.
