With the New York Yankees likely heading to missing the postseason following a brutal season marred by horrendous hitting (or lack there of) at the plate and the exposure of a horribly constructed roster, many fans and MLB journalists have questioned if Yankees manager Aaron Boone will survive what will surely be a wave of changes.

As far as Yankees MVP slugger Aaron Judge is concerned, Boone deserves to keep his job despite their last place positioning in the American League East division and their horrid record amid one of the highest payrolls in the sport.

“He’s a good friend of mine,” Judge said of Boone, according to The Athletic’s Brendan Kuty and Chris Kirschner.

Judge wasn’t the only Yankee to stick up for Boone, with veteran third baseman DJ LeMahieu also coming to the defense of the embattled Yankee manager.

“It’s not an easy job,” LeMahieu said. “I think he handles it great. The players respect him. They enjoy playing for him, but they also respect him.”

“I just like that he checks in during the offseason. Just in general. He genuinely cares about his players. I think he cares more about his players than he does his job.”

Time will tell if Boone is able to get another season in the Bronx, but fans are certainly not in support of keeping the current regime around for another season given the constant issues at the plate and the ineptitude of the offense despite the star power.
