Hornets’ PJ Washington Discusses Miles Bridges Return

2 Min Read

Charlotte Hornets big man PJ Washington has secured a new deal with the team that will keep him with the franchise moving forward, but Washington isn’t the only player set to return to the Hornets as Miles Bridges will return as well.

Bridges was dealing with a felony domestic violence arrest that occurred in the summer of 2022 prior to hitting free agency, but he eventually pleaded no contest to the felony domestic charge and was sentenced to three years of probation.

Due to the case, Bridges was out of the NBA for the entire 2022-2023 season and was suspended by the league back in April. Bridges signed a qualifying offer with the Hornets in July. Bridges will serve the ten-game suspension to open the new season.

Washington recently spoke about Bridges’ return to the team this season.

“I’m just happy he’s back here and has the ability to play,” Washington said, via the Charlotte Observer NBA journalists. “Especially after everything he’s gone through. So, just to be here and pick up a basketball again is just a blessing for him. I’m excited for him.”

Washington also spoke about his belief that the Hornets can have success this upcoming season.

“Since I’ve been here I haven’t been in the playoffs at all. So I want to get a taste of that. I want to see how it feels and I want to eventually win in the playoffs. I think we have a good coaching staff, we have a good front office, we have good players. So, I think we have everything it takes to be there. It’s just about us being consistent each and every day and trying, but we have to fight and make it happen.”
