San Antonio Spurs rookie franchise cornerstone Victor Wembanyama is exactly as advertised, showing impressive play during his first season in the NBA, but Monday night’s performance may take the cake thus far.

Wembanyama led the Spurs to a 122-99 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night, and did so with an astounding triple double of 27 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks in just 29 minutes of actions.

With the impressive stat line, Wembanyama became the first player since Houston Rockets’ legend and Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon in 1996 to record at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 blocks and five assists in a game, and is the fourth rookie to record a triple-double with blocks, joining Spurs legend  and Hall of Famer David Robinson, Mark Eaton and Ralph Sampson.

As if that isn’t impressive enough, Wembanyama is the first player ever to have a 25-point, 10-block game while shooting at least two three pointers in the same game.

His  performance is being celebrated today, and talked about among NBA journalists, media, and fans on NBA social media, and rightfully so.
