The New York Jets, fresh off a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, are finalizing a trade to acquire All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
As part of the deal, the Jets will send a conditional third-round draft pick that could improve to a second-round selection to the Raiders.
Adams will reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in New York, whom he spent the first eight seasons of his career when they were both a part of the Green Bay Packers, in hopes of turning around a lackluster offense and a 2-4 seasons.
The Jets have fired head coach Robert Salah, and look to be a mess along the sidelines, so it seems like a tall task to ask of Adams to turn around a season that is dangerously close to heading towards disaster.
