The Detroit Lions suffered a litany of injuries during Sunday’s shootout loss to the Buffalo Bills as veteran running back David Montgomery suffered a knee injury that could land him on the shelf for the rest of the season.
Montgomery is out indefinitely after he suffered an MCL injury during Sunday’s 48-42 loss to Buffalo and could end up being out for good, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Lions RB David Montgomery is now out indefinitely after suffering an MCL injury during Sunday’s loss to the Bills, sources tell ESPN,” Schefter said on social media. “Montgomery is undergoing additional testing on his knee and getting a second opinion to confirm, but he could be lost for the season.”
Montgomery is part of the exciting running back duo called ‘Sonic and Knuckles’ along with Lions’ lead rusher Jaymyr Gibbs.
