The Oakland Athletics are being unusually active this offseason and spending money and have continued that trend by agreeing to terms with designated hitter Brent Rooker on a five-year, $60 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Rooker has blossomed into a star with the A’s over the past two seasons and is now on the receiving end of the second-largest contract extension in franchise history, and now Rooker is the only A’s player under contract through their planned move to Las Vegas in 2028.
Rooker hit .297/.365/.562 with 39 home runs and 112 RBIs last season for Oakland.
