The Chicago Bears have found their next head coach and are finalizing a deal to hire Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Johnson, 38, has served as the offensive coordinator in Detroit for the last three seasons and will now head to Chicago to take over for former head coach Matt Eberflus, who was fired during the season.
Johnson has built a reputation for being an innovative play called and has helped the Lions rank as a Top 10 offense the last two seasons, finishing 2024 ranked second overall and first in points on route to a 15-2 record.
