The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to add a big bat to their lineup in 2025 and have their sights set on Baltimore Orioles slugger Anthony Santander who has spent the first eight seasons of his career with Baltimore.
According to MLB insider Hector Gomez, “The Blue Jays emerge now as the frontrunner in the Anthony Santander sweepstakes. Angels, Tigers, Astros, Mets and Orioles have shown interest in him” adding that “I [am] hearing [the] Jays offer to Santander is 4/82.”
Landing Santander would not only provide a big boost to their lineup but would also open the door for a contract extension with veteran first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 season.
Trading Guerrero would kickstart a rebuild, but landing Santander would close that door for now.
