Malachi Nelson, a former five-star recruit who spent his first season backing up Caleb Williams while at USC before transferring to Boise State, has officially announced that he will be transferring to UTEP, according to College Football insider Pete Thamel.
“Former Boise State/USC quarterback Malachi Nelson has committed to UTEP,” Thamel wrote in a post on X. “Nelson ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in ESPN’s Class of 2023 and will rank as the most decorated recruit in UTEP history.”
The move will allow Nelson to finally lock in on a starting quarterback role.
