The Las Vegas Raiders have fired head coach Antonio Pierce after just one full season at the helm which ended with a 4-13 record, according to an official team announcement that was issued on Tuesday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders are retaining general manager Tom Telesco who was hired last season.
“We appreciate Antonio’s leadership, first as an interim head coach and this past season as the head coach. Antonio grew up a Raiders fan and his Silver and Black roots run deep. We are grateful for his ability to reignite what it means to be a Raider throughout the entire organization. We wish nothing but the best for Antonio and his family in the future,” the team said via the official statement.
Pierce earned the interim head coach role during the 2023 season after the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels and led the Raiders to a 5-4 finish, which included a 4-2 record within the West division, to finish with an 8-9 record.
